VAPS Interclub Competition and Exhibitions

This is an annual competition, open only to affilliated camera clubs. Entries to this competition are submitted by camera clubs, not individuals. Each submission is a collection of prints, EDI's and AV's, the content of which is determined by the individual camera clubs from submissions by the club's financial members. The competition and exhibition is usually run in conjunction with the annual Muster program.

Rules and Definitions

The documents detailing the rules for the Print, Slide, EDI (Electronic Digital Image) and AV (Audio-Visual) divisions of the VAPS Interclub are available on the Important Documents page.

Interpreting the AV Rules as they apply in the VAPS Interclub Competition

This document is NOT a Rules or a procedures document. It discusses some details of the AV section and the definition. It also provides some information on creating a succesful AV. It is intended as a primer for the creation of AV's as well as giving some insight into how the rules are developed.

The definitions and rules (on the Important Documents page) match APS and International competitions, so there will be no need to re-compile your works for these other competitions.

MAC and PC users both will have their works judged on their native platforms. VAPS now owns an iMac computer, with VMWare that enables us to run Microsoft Windows XP.

AV Division Manual of Procedures (revised Oct 09)

This document lays out the procedures for conducting and judging the VAPS Interclub AV competition. It includes information regarding the standards for venue, equipment setup and calibration.

More importantly, it also introduces the AV definition for this competition and a description of the new 321 sub-section of this competition. Note that the 321 section limits an AV entry to EXACTLY 3 minutes and 21 seconds, not a second more or less, a real challenge.
